Butted Chain mail is not a good choice for contact fighting reenactment or sport, but it is a good choice for costume, the renaissance faire, role-playing, or non-contact fighting reenactment - it will be much easier on the shoulders and body after hours of wear than standard mail.

Handmade from dome riveted 18 gauge round rings, each with a diameter of approx. 5 mm, it is a good piece of chainmail armour. The mail looks like real armour but without the strongest of real chainmail. That’s why it is especially popular in LARP, ren fair and in MOVIE PROP and THEATRE COSTUME.
