The opening prologue of The Fellowship of the Ring (New Line Cinema, 2001) dramatically recounts the history of the One Ring of Power and the battle of the Last Alliance of Elves and Men against Sauron and his servants of Mordor during the Second Age of Middle-earth. The helmets worn by King Elendil’s Númenórean army of Men featured a curving plate extending down to protect the neck as well as protective cheek-guards. The seabird wings adorning the sides of the helmet were strictly decorative and evocative of the Númenórean culture’s ancient and proud history.

This stunt prop helmet was created from steel taken from the original hero prop and is made of solid metal with a leather lined interior.
