Roman Caligae with nails. This model is based on the caligae excavated in Castleford - GB and in Valkenburg - NL. This was the footwear worn by Roman legionaries.

The shoes have a first-class finish and are made from vegetable-tanned leather. They have the typical Roman, 7 mm long sole nails made of steel.

All vegetable-tanned leather shoes should be oiled or waxed on the outside before use and as required so that the leather remains supple and does not crack.

Ordering is simple, upon making the order please discuss with us your shoe size as we keep plenty in stock, but if your shoe size is not in our normal stock range, we can make you one especially. Sizes usually come in standard EU shoe sizes.

Please also keep in mind that leather is a natural product and variations in colour and grain are quite normal. Each pair of leather shoes is thus unique and above pictures are for reference only.
