The helmet is made from 16 gauge mild steel, left with a war-worn finish, best suited for Viking / Vendel warrior costumes, evocation and reenactment ensembles.

The aventail is made from Riveted 9 mm rings of 1 8gauge mild steel wire.

It is inspired historically by the Valsgarde 8 helmet, Its spectacle design is quite typical of the Viking and Vendel helmets, resembling the popular Gjermundbu helmet discovered in the early 20th century near Haugsbyd, Norway.

While we pack this product, we coat it with a thin layer of oil to avoid corrosion, so don’t forget to wipe it off before you use it.
